Le Grand Finale

Wed Nov 11, 2009, 12:58 PM
  • Mood: Optimism
  • Listening to: Rain
  • Reading: Comics
  • Watching: Supernatural
  • Playing: Nothing. It's finals, you fool!
  • Eating: mint
  • Drinking: humidity
I bring you here today for a few business matters that are to be discussed in the following well-organized post. Some require input, some are just inane comments. #3 is the item in question requiring your lovely feedback. If you so desire, skipping ahead to that is perfectly acceptable. Without further ado:

1. Yesterday was my birthday, and it went rather well! I had one class, skipped the other. Went shopping and had a lovely time during which I bought two shirts, 3 pairs of earrings, and a little carved skull bracelet made of camel bone (SO COOL). I went to Melting Pot (which I've never had before) with some darling buddies. We came back and watched hilarious<s>ly awful</s> 3D animated super hero porn. And then the Umbilical Brothers. We parted ways after happily discussing a future World of Darkness Changeling game we will be playing next Spring. And then I fell asleep during V for Vendetta (which was intentional, I assure you. I love that movie.). All in all, a very pleasant time.

2. I never announced it, but I've been accepted to an overseas trip to France for Winter quarter through my school. I leave in early January until early March to live in the little town of Lacoste with some of my best buds. Internet may not be stable, and I'll basically be immersed in art. I CAN'T WAIT. We'll be in Paris for a week at some point, and we'll being going to Angouleme, the world's largest comic festival. MMMM I love majoring in Sequential Art.

3. #2 leads directly into #3 in that I would like to earn as much money as possible before I go off to France. I'll have a job all during winter break, but I may try, for the first time ever, to open commissions online. I'm not expecting much, but every little bit counts. I'll open them soon after I get back from school for decently cheap prices (at least, I think decently cheap?) until probably very early January. I know lots of people are out on money right now, and plenty of other artists will be offering them, I'm sure. But I figure there's no harm in opening them just in case I could earn some extra cash for Euros in France. I'll also be opening commissions on Y-Gallery for the uh...less work safe stuff I could do. So if you'd be interested in something more along the slashier/yaoi-related lines (or something with a higher rating but het, for that matter), then just message me and I can link you to my account there for better examples. Also, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS INTEREST I'm going to open them anyway just in case, but if I know you're already interested, I'd put you at the top of the list when they do open. I'll make another post in a week or two about that.

4. Finally, it's finals. This quarter went by so fast! For the rest of this week and next week I will be slaving over finals work. This quarter has actually been decently easy compared to the last...oh, year or so, of classes. I'm not too concerned. But I do need to buckle down. Then next Thursday I have to pack up my entire room to move out because I don't keep my room during France.

Thank you for your cooperation. We now return you to your previously scheduled DeviantArt.
